Some have a boost capability to bump up a sag in the voltage. Otherwise the
UPS switches over to battery. The problem is how often it switches over may
drain the battery faster than it can be charged, You need to check to see if
the problem is really in your building or really is the Utility, first.
Some UPS produce true sine waves and the less expensive ones produce a
simulated sine wave.
